I am a Zimbabwean-born, UK-based researcher, systems thinker, and social entrepreneur working at the intersection of migration, cities, development, governance, and social justice. My work explores how people and communities navigate displacement, inequality, and social change, with a particular focus on migration, urban life, resilience, and inclusive futures.

I am a graduate of the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, and Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs, France. My research examines the relationships between space, governance, mobility, and everyday life in contexts of migration and social transformation. Drawing on ethnographic and systems-based approaches, I seek to understand how individuals and communities respond to complex social challenges while creating pathways towards dignity, belonging, and inclusion.

My research and fieldwork have taken me across diverse urban contexts, including Paris, Berlin, Athens, Johannesburg, New York, and other cities where questions of migration, housing, governance, and social justice continue to shape everyday experiences. Through this work, I engage with communities, policymakers, practitioners, and scholars to better understand how cities can become more inclusive, equitable, and resilient.

In 2025, I became the first African scholar to receive the Margaret Mead Memorial Award from the International Society for the Systems Sciences (ISSS) and the International Federation for Systems Research (IFSR). The award recognised my research on migration, resilience, and complex social systems. My work has been presented at international conferences, policy forums, and universities across Europe, Africa, and North America, including invited talks and engagements as a visiting scholar. I have also contributed to scholarly publications through international journals and book chapters published by Routledge and Springer.

Alongside my academic work, I serve as a Trustee and Board Director of Cambridge Students’ Union, contributing to the strategic governance of an organisation representing more than 27,000 students across the University of Cambridge.

Beyond academia, I am the Founder and Executive Director of Marvel Act Youth Organisation (MAYO Zimbabwe), a grassroots organisation advancing youth empowerment, gender justice, education, digital inclusion, climate action, and community development. Over the past decade, I have worked across research, policy, media, and civil society, leading initiatives that bridge academic knowledge and practical social impact across Africa and beyond.

My academic background spans Architecture and Urban Studies, Development Studies, Sociology, Migration Studies, and International Affairs. Across my research, advocacy, and organisational leadership, I remain committed to connecting scholarship, policy, and community action. Through research, public engagement, institution-building, and international collaboration, I seek to contribute to more inclusive, just, and sustainable societies.
